About Us

                                         ELIZABETH H. :

My name is Elizabeth H. and I am a senior at the University of Utah. I will be graduating this May with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology. I have chosen my major because I have a great passion for all children regardless of their race, color, creed, ethnicity, or disability. During my adolescent and early adulthood years, I have known several families who have children on the Autism spectrum. As a future Family Life Educator, I hope to gain a better understanding of this diagnosis so that I can assist families in exploring community, health and educational programs which may be suitable for their family and children.  I am looking forward to providing the research portion for this blog which will present the connection between parenting techniques and community advocacy.

KORIN:

My name is Korin and I am a wife and mother of six children.  My husband and I have been married twenty-four years. We have four boys and two girls that range in age from twelve to eighteen.  I am excited about this blog because my oldest son was diagnosed with Asperger’s when he was eight years old.  I strongly believe the more knowledge we gain, the more tolerant we become.  I hope this blog will help others view autism as a gift and embrace the uniqueness of those on the autistic spectrum. People with Asperger’s are amazing!  As you read our blog, maybe just maybe, you will come to realize that, we are all much more the same than we are different!
